What decides whether your email gets through

You don't need any of this to use SenseSend — we handle it. But if you're curious, this is the foundation we monitor and manage for you.

Authentication — proving your email is trustworthy

Mailbox providers only let through email they trust. Three standards decide this:

SPF (Sender Policy Framework)
Declares which servers are allowed to send email for your domain. Missing or wrong → mail can be rejected.
DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail)
A digital signature proving the email wasn't altered in transit and really comes from you.
DMARC
Ties SPF and DKIM together and tells the receiver what to do if something doesn't match. Weak or missing DMARC is the most common cause of trouble.
Alignment
That the From-address customers see matches the domain that's actually authenticated. A mismatch sends mail straight to spam.
DMARC reports (rua)
With DMARC in place, Google, Microsoft and others send daily reports about ALL email using your domain. We collect and analyze them for you — on every plan: you see which systems send in your name, get alerted when a new sender appears or someone tries to impersonate you, and get advice on when the policy can safely be tightened. Raw reports can also be forwarded to any other tools you use.

Reputation and list hygiene

Even with the technical side in place, delivery depends on the reputation of your domain and sending IP, and on whether your sends follow good practice — like a working unsubscribe link. We track this over time.

Modern standards we also check

MTA-STS

Requires encrypted delivery of email to your domain.

TLS-RPT

Reports about encryption problems during delivery.

BIMI

Shows your logo in the inbox once authentication is in place.
